GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
JULY THROUGH DECEMBER, 2009
PROCUREMENT PLAN NUMBER 6

Through a grant agreement signed on November 29, 2006, the Government of El Salvador (GOES) received a US$ 460.9 million grant from the Government of the United States of America via the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), a US Government corporation created to help to facilitate the reduction of poverty through sustainable economic growth. FOMILENIO (Fondo del Milenio), the locally established Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) entity, is the accountable institution established under El Salvadoran law to act on behalf of the Government of El Salvador (GOES) on this initiative. The goal of the Compact is to advance economic growth and poverty reduction in the Northern Zone of El Salvador. The Program includes the following Projects: 1) Human Development Project, 2) Productive Development Project, and 3) Connectivity Project.

In compliance with the established in the “Program Procurement Guidelines” issued by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), FOMILENIO has to publish a General Procurement Notice, on at least a semi-annual basis, in which the procurements planned for the upcoming period are identified.

Therefore, for the period from July to December, 2009, FOMILENIO has planned to implement procurement actions for Goods, Works, and Services, under the terms and conditions established in each contract resulting from the procurement processes in the categories detailed below, in a transparent and fiscally sound manner.

Goods: Total Estimated Value: US$7,000,000.00

Information Technology:
• Software, hardware and IT tools (expansion of central server and antivirus software)

Equipment:
• Photographic cameras
• GPS devices
• Distance measurement, binoculars and similar items
• 4 x 4 pickups with their maintenance

Purchases for the Productive Sector:
• Inputs (plants and seeds and other types of agricultural inputs)
• Materials (agricultural material)
• Equipment (agricultural equipment)

Purchases for middle school institutions:
• Teaching materials (books, special documentation, and material for use in laboratories)
• Furniture and specialized equipment (desks, chairs, lab seats, lab equipment, library tables and chairs, and similiar items)
• Personal computers and workstations
Other purchases:
• Printing material
• Publications
• Publications in specialized magazines
• Uniforms, protective clothing and industrial security equipment (gloves, boots, helmets and similar items)

and Environmental Studies, and Consultants:

• Technical assistance and training for Water and Sanitation Projects
• Supervision of the construction, technical assistance and training for Water and Sanitation Projects
