MILLENNIUM CHALLENGE ACCOUNT – TANZANIA
GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE No.6
The Millennium Challenge Corporation (“MCC”) and the Government of Tanzania (the “Government”) have entered into a Millennium Challenge Compact (“the Compact”) for Millennium Challenge Account assistance to help facilitate poverty reduction through economic growth in Tanzania in the amount of USD 698,136,000.00 (“MCC Funding”).
The Millennium Challenge Account-Tanzania (“MCA-T”) on behalf of the Government intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of MCC Funding to eligible payments for contracts for goods, works and services. Payments by MCA-T will be subject, in all respects, to the terms and conditions, including restrictions on the use of MCC Funding, of the Compact.
No party other than the Government and MCA-T shall derive any rights from the Compact or have any claim to the proceeds of MCC Funding.
The following procurement is expected to commence during the period 1 October, 2009 to 31 March, 2010 at an estimated total cost of about USD 210 million:

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be awarded under competitive bidding procedures, and for consultant contracts will be announced, as they become available, on the Website of the Millennium Challenge Account-Tanzania (http://mca-t.go.tz ), United Nations Development Business Online (UNDB Online: http://www.devbusiness.com ), Development Gateway Market (dgMarket: http://www.dgmarket.com ), the Tanzanian Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA: http://www.ppra.go.tz/award.php ) in local newspapers, and other media outlets as appropriate.
Procurement using shopping shall not be further advertised after this notice. Procurement by Direct Contracting (DC) or Single Source Selection (SSS) are listed for information only.
